Coasters for the most… ers?
January 11, 2012
We made coasters in my December sewing class. The key skill we were supposed to pick up was sewing on bling. I chose a shiny beaded string as my bling and sewed it on using a zigzag stitch just a wee bit wider than it was. All in all it was a fairly straightforward project, and I was rather unenthused. I left early with the coasters only half finished, and then they sat neglected for the rest of the month. I brought them to sewing class this month to finish them off. Others were making an e-book cover, but I’d missed the memo and was glad to have them done regardless. The reverse is the pink floral left over from my Biscuit Basket.
Woooooo. Exactly.

Well, they’re pretty cute coasters even if you weren’t excited about them
I never get down on crafty sewing (I’ve done more than my share), but realized when I was making the trivet gift that my enthusiasm, and therefore patience, has waned recently. It comes in stages for me, I suppose.
Thanks, Lavender. I think it was the repetitive sewing of a square that got me down. Sure you have to be careful of your corners, and sure there was the technique of sewing on the bling, but it still felt too easy I guess. I shouldn’t complain about easy though!
I love the coasters! I am in the process of making some now in my spare time. Thinking about giving them as Christmas gifts this year.
