T-Minus Two Weeks

There are just two weeks left to enter the Tessuti Awards contest. I’m cruising along and should meet the deadline, even if it’s ever so close.  I’m using two Tessuti silk twills, one with random polka dots and the other with random stripes, which I’ve paired with the classic pattern Vogue V8280.  I’m quite excited about the combination!  I’m taking the time to underline with silk organza and line with silk crepe de chine just in case my dress does get chosen for the finals – I want to make sure my construction techniques will meet the expectations of the judges.  I’ve nearly finished the bodice; all that remains is the hand stitching.  And, I’ve got a good start on the skirt.  There are a quite a few lovely dresses already entered into the contest, so here’s to hoping I finish in time to have a chance at the Visitor’s Choice prizes (essentially a public vote – where people like you can choose your favorite!).
